Sussex Floor & vault criteria finalized

4 January 2010
Sam Penney

Hi everyone,

Hope you have all had a good Christmas and New Year.

F&V rules can be downloaded from the library.

General TC minutes are available here.

Firstly can I ask you read to the end of this e-mail as I need you to send a reply with the answers to some questions.

I would like to thank those of you that were at the meeting for giving up your time in order to ensure the General Gymnastics Criteria has everything on there that needs to be and should now be able to be used for many years to come. It was a long meeting but I feel that after having your input the criteria is now ready.

Attached are the minutes from the General Gymnastics meeting held in December and the finalised criteria with the agreed changes (I'm hoping I have not missed anything out)! If you find anything that was discussed that I have not changed please let me know sooner rather than later!

I would also like to take this opportunity to ask all clubs involved in general gymnastics to let me know approximately how many gymnasts they would have to enter a Key Steps competition this year. This level would be aimed at 6-7year olds (ready for them to move to Novice when they in the year they turn 8) and involves a floor routine, a vault and a body management exercise. Please could you let me know before the 18th January so I can make a decision on whether there is enough interest in it to organise a competition.

At the workshop Lisa and I ran before the Sussex Champs I asked who needed to do which coaching courses. As some general gymnastics courses are not run within the Sussex I am going to find out if it would be possible to get one organised more locally but to enquire about this I need to know what the demand is for which courses. Therefore could all clubs send me a list of names of which coaches they would like to get on which courses. It is probably going to be mainly coaches looking for a General gym Level 3 (although there is one running at Hawth from this weekend) and a General gym level 4 course. Once again can you let me have this information before the 18th January please and I'll see what I can do.

Lastly and very importantly, I have to try and find a date and venue to run a Sussex 4 piece competition for Bronze, Silver and Gold Levels so that all levels get a chance to compete in a Sussex 4 piece competition. In order to do this I need to know when clubs are planning on running there own invitational competitions so that I do not organise something for the same date. Please could everyone let me know before 11th January when they are holding their competitions so I can book a date and venue to hold this competition. If you do not yet have a date please can you let me know roughly when you are planning it for, or if you have some flexibility on when you can run your own comp can you also let me know.

Thank you and I look forward to recieving lots of list from everyone
