Clarifications on General Gymnastics competition levels

I just want to clarify a couple of things to do with which level to enter your gymnasts at for competitions in 2010.

1) If your gymnasts were listed on the list I emailed out then the level that is written beside their name is the lowest level they may compete at in 2010 according to their scores from last years competitions. If you wish for them to compete at a higher level they can do, e.g. if they have Intermediate written beside their name then they can't compete at Novice but they can compete at Intermediate, Advanced, Bronze or higher if you wish.

2) Male and female gymnasts that competed at Intermediate in 2009 (especially 12-14 & 15+ gymnasts) should probably compete at Advanced Level in 2010 as it is basically the same criteria (although it is slightly harder for the 8-9's & 10-11's).

3) The 2010 Intermediate Level is a completely new level so if you have gymnasts that competed the 2009 Novice Level last year but you thought it was slightly easy for them but didn't move them up because you thought the 2009 Intermediate Level was to difficult then this would be the ideal level to enter them at in 2010. Alternatively if you entered gymnasts at 2009 Intermediate Level but felt it was slightly to hard for them then they could effectively drop down to compete at Intermediate in 2010. That is providing they were not listed on the email I sent out.

4) For gymnasts that did not compete in 2009 at any Sussex competitions or were in the 8-9 & 10-11 Intermediate Level, it is at the coaches discretion as to which level to enter these gymnasts at in 2010. This is because the 2010 Advanced Level is harder & the start value is higher for 8-9's & 10-11's than the 2009 Intermediate Level so I could not use the 2009 scores to move gymnasts up or down levels.

I hope this makes things clearer and helps you come to a decision as to which level your gymnasts should be competing at in 2010.

If not then please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank You
Sam
