Gymnastics on 5 February

Despite the weather forecast, the "Sussex Floor & Vault" competition and the "Regional Men's Artistic" training session on 5 February will be running. We will post a message here before 7:00am on Sunday 5 February if either of these events is cancelled. We hope to see you all tomorrow!

Judges' workshop details

There is a judges' workshop on Sunday 29th January. This will be held at Uckfield Gym Club and will start at 9am. The latest it will finish is 5pm. Please could you email Sam Penney a list of who is coming ASAP.

General Levels for 2012 revised

A few gymnasts have competed in artistic comps so the minimum level they have to compete at in 2012 may have changed since the draft got sent out as you can't enter gymnasts at certain levels if they have done certain levels in artistic. This was discussed at the meeting and is now in the criteria which can be downloaded from the library.

General rules for 2012 now finalised

The Sussex criteria for general gymnastics competitions in 2012 has been published. Alterations were made as discussed at the meeting along with a couple of other minor things. All changes are highlighted but please read through carefully when making up routines.

Trampoline H and I assessments for 2012

2012 is nearly upon us so I have published the details for our County H&I Assessments. As you will be aware we have to put forward at least one welfare officer for each assessment. Please ask your welfare officers if they would be willing to assist so we can put their names forward otherwise we may not be able to hold any assessments next year.

Sussex to create an Awards Panel

Sussex Gymnastics invites all clubs to nominate an individual to be selected to sit on the "Sussex Gymnastics Awards Panel". This panel will look at aligning the biennial county award categories to the regional awards which should help clubs to follow an obvious reward pathway in recognising their gymnasts, coaches and volunteers the sport. Please send a small write up on why this individual has been put forward to our County Chair, Rebecca McCoy.

County TeamGym criteria

Sussex Gymnastics proposes to use a county level TeamGym criteria. Please take the time to read through these and make any suggestions for amendments to Sally-Anne (Hawth GC). These rules will be in force very soon, so ensure any comments are received before Friday 25th November 2011.

Coach Sussex Bursary applications now open

Due to an increased need to support coaches with attaining Level 1 and 2 coaching qualifications, the Coach Sussex Bursary is targeting coaches delivering sport across the county. The bursary will provide coaches with the opportunity to undertake a level 1 or 2 coaching qualification with a financial bursary made available to support those who successfully complete their course and deliver coaching hours in return.
The Coach Sussex Bursary will fund 75% of the course cost, up to 150 pounds for a level 1 and 200 pounds for a level 2. Deadline for applications is Tuesday 31st January 2012.
